also i’ve been drinking a green smoothie everyday and that shit is like liquid sunshine for my brain and body. it’s hard to embrace “healthy lifestyle choices” without feeling/sounding/thinking like a new age valley girl… (STILL FIGURING OUT IF THAT’S A GOOD OR A BAD THING)
GREEN SMOOTHIE RECIPE (serves 2)
2 bananas
1 pitted medjool date
about a cup of plain yogurt (i use the local farm fresh offering)
splash or 2 of milk
heaping handful of baby spinach
8 (or more) large ice cubes
2 tbsp unsweetened raw almond butter
1 tsp agave (optional)

beautiful kaya in the herb garden
me and kaya visited her elementary school yesterday. it’s an amazing place called mountain road school in new lebanon, new york. the grounds are so beautiful- with herb gardens, chickens roaming around, views of the mountains, and incredible old shaker buildings. the ruins pictured are at the bottom of the road leading up to the school, and they house these huge majestic ravens. kaya took me to this grove of amazing long skinny trees, where she used to climb each one hopping from limb to limb in a circle.
i just want this color hair again (with a severe middle part, wavy, and down to the middle of my back), a wardrobe of entirely black drapey clothing, intensely arched dark eyebrows, and gaga nails.

this is the first time in my life i’ve felt completely frustrated and dejected about all of the clothing options i have in front of me, and zero room financially to spruce things up. interesting.

in my mind’s eye i’m carrying around a bunch of kale, a handle of kombucha (on tap at guido’s), and a yoga mat in this sassy fuckin’ linen tote. i’m a lot healthier and cooler in my mind’s eye.
